SPICED CITRUS CRANBERRY SAUCE
INGREDIENTS
16 oz cranberries, fresh
1 1/2 cup cane sugar
1 cup orange juice
1/4 tsp ground clove
1/4 tsp ginger, grated
2 cinnamon sticks
zest of one orange
DIRECTIONS
In a sauce pan combine the cranberries with the orange juice, sugar and all other spices. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and reduce to a simmer until sauce has thickened, about 15-20 minutes. Let sauce cool then transfer to a heatproof bowl and refrigerate until chilled.
NOTES
This recipe can be made beforehand and kept refrigerated for up to a week. It can also easily be adapted for a larger amount by doubling the ingredients. Frozen cranberries can be used, although we recommend fresh berries as they hold their shape a bit better and add texture. Recipe adapted from Tyler Florence for Food Network.
